2010 Kidding Schedule
One of the most exciting times at Trevin Farms is with the birth of a baby goat (kid). We are very excited to announce the kidding schedule for the 2010 season. All of the adult female goats (doe) have been bred in the fall of 2009 and all have seemed to “settle”, meaning that they all to appear to have gotten pregnant. Our first adult to have settled is Strawberry and she is expected to give birth on March 10, 2010. Each doe should give birth 150 days from breeding. There are a total of 11 adult does giving or expect to give birth this year on Trevin Farms giving us at least 22 kids this spring.
The saying goes “life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get” and that is what it will be like for us for each birth. There are a couple of unknowns for us until the time of their birth, sex, color and health. A white doe can produce a black kid with all kinds of markings, stripes, dots or lines. That is the excitement of each birth, seeing what “pops out”.

We are getting more and more reservations with guests requesting the cheese making classes offered at Trevin Farms. Troy is your instructor and he not only makes it informative but entertaining as well. Troy enjoys giving the classes in such a way that no expensive equipment is needed at home and anyone can make Chevre when they leave. The classes are designed so you can take the information with you and make it at home. Troy is great at answering questions and helping in any way. If you have questions after you leave, he will get right back to you to help you with your cheese.
